About the event

Location note: is at Chulalongkorn Social Innovation Hub (NB not just "Innovation Hub") in the Faculty of Political Science

Perinatal Mental Health is one of the most pressing public health priorities of our time. It affects parents, children, families, workplaces and economies. It represents a powerful opportunity to intervene early, reduce long-term harm, and build fairer, more effective systems of care.

This event marks the launch of a new report regarding investment into Perinatal Mental Health in Thailand by London School of Economics and Political Science ("LSE"), PAM Foundation, Perinatal Alliance for Mental Health Thailand ("PAM Thailand"), Siriraj Hospital, Prince of Songkla University, Queen Sirikit National Institute of Child Health, Thammasat University, Ooca, Monash University, University of Cape Town, and the Global Alliance for Maternal Mental Health.

The event will present new economic evidence, led by LSE, on the human and financial costs of perinatal mental health difficulties in Thailand, alongside practical policy recommendations for action. It replicates similar work done in the UK by the LSE team, as mentioned here in The Guardian.

The programme will also introduce the newly established Perinatal Mental Health Alliance of Thailand ("PAM Thailand") and bring together leading national and international experts to discuss priorities and partnerships.

The event aims to build consensus and momentum towards a clear, collective call to action for improving support for mothers, infants and families across Thailand.
